Red flags: Oxford implant clinics to avoid

Most Oxford implant clinics are run by competent, GDC-registered clinicians doing good work. A small minority are not. Here are the warning signs that let you tell the difference before you commit a £3,000+ decision.

"From £999" pricing

Almost always the fixture-only price. The crown, abutment, scan, and any grafting are extras — real total usually £2,000+ after add-ons. If a Oxford clinic's headline price seems impossibly low, that's because it is. Ask for the itemised all-in quote, in writing.

Quotes without a CT scan

Any Oxford clinic quoting implants without a 3D cone-beam CT scan is guessing whether you'll need grafting, whether your sinus is in the way, or where the implant can safely go. The real quote will change once the scan is done — sometimes by thousands. Don't sign anything before the scan.

Pressure to commit today

"Special price only valid this week." "We have a slot next week but need to confirm today." These tactics are optimising the clinic's conversion, not your outcome. Reputable Oxford practices send a written quote and honour it for at least 30 days. Walk out if you feel rushed.
